So we backfilled a basement last week and the two long walls bowed in 2.5 inches each. First time I have experienced this in my 25 years of doing dirt work.

Headed out for another iron infusion. So much fun. Barrie, Tom, did you guys get bad weather?
Good luck on the infusion, storm line moving in real soon. Raining off and on since last night.

So we backfilled a basement last week and the two long walls bowed in 2.5 inches each. First time I have experienced this in my 25 years of doing dirt work.

A few, 10-12, years ago we contracted to have a house built. the one continuous wall was in the back 62 ft long... all of the foundation walls were poured the same day, 13 days later they removed the forms... about 8 days later they began the back fill and compaction. The back wall was so bowed a person could stand against it at one and another at the other end an NOT see each other. They tried bolting large C-Chanel to it and using some rods to slowly pull it back over a months time... it got only about a third of the way back. The builder said it was all they could do and was going to continue with the House above "MAKING SOME ADJUSTMENTS", I TOLD HIM TO GO TO HELL... Got completely out of the Contract, began a different house with a different Contractor that had my house about 50% built when I found out the first Had To take the entire pour out and start over! No one was willing to buy his ****. The house he put on that lot was about half the size of the bad pour foundation and wasn't finished for nearly two years after mine was. The second house was even in LITIGATION with the second people trying to build on that lot. I was even deposed in the second peoples lawsuit against the builder.

All I can say is, COVER YOUR ASS NOW. You may find yourself in a lawsuit!
