Tom, the gun my son bought me a few weeks ago is a S&W M&P Shield, in 9mm. I went to the gun range the other day and the owner pulled out a Glock 43, and comparing them side by side, they are virtually identical. I have never shot the Glock 43, but have shot my Shield, and I love it. I will tell you that out of the box, the Shield's trigger pull feels a bit rough, but the Glock's trigger pull seemed smooth as silk. I plan on having my son polish the internals, which should make the trigger pull excellent. What I don't like about the Glock, with it being worn inside the waistband, is the fact that it does not have an external safety. The Shield does. I like that extra bit of safety when I shove it down the front of my pants!
