Morning all. Tom, our bill was $400 a month when we moved here. After the new a/c was put in, the bills went to $150. Now, they raised our electric rates and now paying $300 a month.
Just got my electric bill. $309 with a new, high efficiency A/C system.
I heard how they were working on that a couple years ago. At the time they were targeting people tgat lived by the beach because they we rent paying their fair share because they didn't use ac.With old solar, you got the tax credits. They have now dried up. Now, electric companies (at least for sure in California) are charging between ~ $100 - $150 a month for solar users to compensate the electric company for not being able to charge you. Then you add the ~$30k for the installation of solar, and around here, people are paying $400 - $500 a month just for the privilege of having solar. It is the talk of the town now.
Solar is on my list. At least I live in a place where power is more affordable. I have three meters on my property and everything is electric, no gas at all. With a well, a.c., electric kitchen and shop my bill was 215 for all three meters. Worst part is I pay almost 20 bucks a month in taxes and fees for each meter.
It's been all day and the hour and half rain delay didn't help.I used to watch those, but don't have all day to waste anymore.
It's a wet morning!!!
Rain off and on thru the night and a bit cloudy currently.
