I am asbestos certified. There was none, all the remodeling was done between 78 and 85 after asbestos was illegal to install. The paint on the original walls is probably lead based so you shouldn't eat it. That and we are wearing respirators as well. Dust really bothers me.
The original plaster from this area did not have asbestos. Not that I would want to breath it either.

Actually, asbestos is still legal in the US. The 1989 ban was overturned in 1991. It is illegal to use in only a few products. ( flooring felt, rollboard, and corrugated, commercial, or specialty paper)

That is an ambitious project. How well is the city working with you on the transformation? Have you inquired about any Community Development Funds available? Our little city would hand out $35K just on a promise to keep it open for a year.

So, a lady called with a roof leak, she said landscapers cleaned the leaves off the roof in a dead valley. It was choke full of decaying leaves. Downpipe blocked the ability to flow water, the elbow was tight to the shingles and blocking any ability to self clean. Raised the elbow 4" and it should be a whole lot better.
