Lazy day here Chris, there is a layer of ice on everything and I have not heard any traffic go by.

I split about a half cord of wood last night, back up to 4 cords ready. Hopefully it will last the next few months. House is to big with an inefficient heater so fires it is.

Have not heard anything today yet. Doctors said he has probably a few weeks left. He is stable but no medications are working any more. I get along with his wife about as well as a steak in a lion's den so I have to go through my sister to get any news.

I understand. We have no communication with my wife's family since her mother passed.

Evening, just got off the phone with dad and doctor. Dad is just waiting to die and doctor wants him to try one last time to live. Last night he finally let the doctor try some different things which are helping but his attitude is still in the shitter. Seems he has given up.

Very sad to say but sometimes people are just plain tired of life and struggling against health issues. Could be why he has given up.

That and he has as always felt bad about not being in his kids lives even though we all have been trying for 20 years. He chose a horrible wife over his kids and has felt bad since but never tried to change it.

Eventually, it is just time. When my dad was In the hospital, he told us good bye and said he was tired and to let him go, and we did.

Both of my parents went pretty much like that.

My dad is 71 now. Mom died at 59. Dads dad died at 54, dads mom at 70. Moms dad is 92 and still lives alone, moms mom died at 92 a couple years ago.
