Every days a new adventure when you deal with a parent with dementia.

I've had about 7 hours sleep in the last 3 days. New medications had an adverse effect. Dementia sucks.

I've got to get her into assisted living or a nursing home. Its wearing me out.

I tried that with my step mom. We took a tour of a memory unit and when she heard the door lock behind her, she said, "you ain't locking me up in this fuckin prison", then ran to the car. At that point, we hired a live in caretaker and increased the hours until she was full time. It cost my dad about double from what a nursing home would have cost, but she was happy to die in her own home.
