Every days a new adventure when you deal with a parent with dementia.

I've had about 7 hours sleep in the last 3 days. New medications had an adverse effect. Dementia sucks.

I've got to get her into assisted living or a nursing home. Its wearing me out.

I tried that with my step mom. We took a tour of a memory unit and when she heard the door lock behind her, she said, "you ain't locking me up in this ****** prison", then ran to the car. At that point, we hired a live in caretaker and increased the hours until she was full time. It cost my dad about double from what a nursing home would have cost, but she was happy to die in her own home.
