Idaho housing market is in a free fall. Seeing big increase in inventory with homes sitting on the market. 60-100k price drops are happening daily. Big home builder is now advertising all homes are getting 60k reduction, claiming lumber prices have dropped, so they are passing the savings onto the buyers. Only 30 days ago the house two doors down went on the market. They had 8 offers, it sold for 50k over ask in just 2 days. House right next door hit the market Saturday with an open house that literally saw only one couple look at it. Crazy how fast things changed.
 
Morning all. So, we are sandwiched today with a National Holiday with Cause's birthday yesterday, and Chris's birthday tomorrow. I don't know whether to praise them, or blame them.

Well you can't BLAME me, I had nothing to do with it... They cut me and sis out, Not like I had a choice !
 
Evening all. Going to go spray weeds with the 4wheeler. Any of you guys get goatheads? I hate them.

Yep, we have them in the far back the dogs sometimes get one in their paw and limp up to the house to have them taken out !
 
Edison Power owns a huge lot down the street, and nothing can be built on the land because of the high power lines overhead. That lot is full of them goatheads, so when we take a walk that way, I get 15-20 of them little thorns in my shoes. Seems when I get home, they end up in the house, ready to attack your feet as soon as you walk by them.

It's falling quick.

I'm canning three guys this week.
 
So the development I work in canceled the next phase a few weeks ago. Today they canceled the last six foundations in the current phase. Talked to the project manager and they have 31 unsold homes in inventory and the last two that sold the people backed out and walked.

Within the last 4 weeks things went from bidding wars to people walking. That's a record.

The project manager I work with has been doing this his whole life and is in his 60s. He says the only thing he has noticed to tell the future on the real estate market has been copper. Because it's used worldwide and is really not backed by anything but construction. If you look at it now it's falling.
