We sometimes run a hose/sprinkler all day long. Water out of OUR well, power from the sun, OUR solar panels !

It was 103 here today so a friend and I went to one of the neighborhood pools in the area and except for the volunteer pool monitor we were the only ones there for the entire 2 1/2 hours. It's $6 to swim or $3 if you pay a $60 yearly membership. Probably the current inflation situation has people not able to spend the money. The whole situation is actually getting disastrous for people struggling to make ends meet.... $5 a gallon gas, $4 loaf of bread, $8 a pound bacon, and $3 for a can of Progresso Soup!

Last summer, the Amish were charging $2 lb for tomatoes. This year it is $4.
Evening. Met with a customer tonight who is good friends with my wife. They wanted me to look at a piece of land they are in escrow on. Needs a road, septic, power and everything else. I told them they could save a boat load of money by waiting to buy the land and build. They are in escrow for 350k on a property that was 80k a year ago. Here reasoning was she wasn't going to put the current house on the market until the new one is done. I recommended selling the current and renting for a year and it would probably save them 250k. She didn't believe things are headed down. At least I tried. I figured they like wasting money so I guess I'll send a top dollar bid.

Our house is valued at three times what we gave for it five years ago. But if we sold it, we could not buy another one without losing money.
It's 1135, still 86 degrees, so I jumped in the pool. Nice way to end the night.

That's how it is for most people. We got lucky if we were to sell and move 10 minutes away we could pocket some cash but I like where I live and my house is paid off. I'll just stay here for a bit.
