Hey Mark, wanna hear another corruption story? Our city manager, who just resigned, got a severance package. In spite of the fact that he moved 100 miles away in August which violated his contract. Greasy palms.
The city manager we got fired walked away with a 6 month severance package, 6 months of medical insurance, to the tune of $220K.
It's all in the wording of the contract. Our greasy bitch also knew were were preparing to replace 2 council members, and her contract specified that she could not be terminated until all the council had been on the dais for a period of 90 days. Ironically, she used our very own city attorney to write that contract. Well, guess what, we got him and his firm fired just last month!
Oh, I forgot to tell you, the group I am in, with 1450 members just elected me as the president of the group. I also was asked to apply for the planning commission because there is a spot for me, but I think it is a way to silence me from duties with my group.

Lastly, Amazon is trying to force us into accepting them into our city. They want to build a 350,000 sq ft logistics center in the center of our city where semi trucks will come and go all hours of the day and night. They also have 1800 parking spots to lease out their Amazon delivery vans, which will make 3-4 runs daily, 24/7/365 days a year. In exchange, they want to pay our city a measly $2.25M, with no reoccurring payments for the life of this 100 year lease. Our first road repair will eat up this $2.25 M with just one repaving. We are fighting this hard, and after attending the last planning commission, we had 12 speakers and the press was there to take pictures of our coalition.

We had 40 mph winds during the night. The yards are a mess, my tables and chairs are all knocked over, and all my guavas are knocked out of the tree. I never liked them guavas anyways.
