'Cause
NOBODY
Evening, I realized today I am not young anymore or I'm crippled. Things that I used to not think if and just pick up like the concrete from an old fence post and toss in the bucket of the tractor I couldn't pick up today. I did this demo job today by myself and I'm paying for it. Had to hand load a few tons of broken asphalt and use the digging bar to break some of it. Now I cant mive my right arm and I think I tore something in my shoulder. I guess it's a good thing I see the surgeon on Wednesday. I have never felt so weak in my life.
I'm only 40 and still work every day. I've always been strong and dumb enough to use it. My body is just failing way to early. At 40 I should not have already had two hernias, 7 bad discs in my back, a degenerate hip and need surgery on both shoulders. My doctor tells me every time I go in that I need to quit construction but I'm scared that if I do it will be like your case and I'll just get worse. If you dont use it you lose it.
...And if you don't stop, by the time you are 45 you'll be having people feed you soup through a straw!!!
(and the FIL will be walking around with everything you use to own!!! )
