Good morning everyone.
It's a terrible tragedy. I've flown into that airport a few times on a regional jet when flying from my brother's house in Dayton to visit my son in DC. I fly home from there non stop on a full size jet. My son lives about 3 miles from the crash site as the crow flies. I wonder if he heard it?

When we first moved back to my hometown in 1992, we bought a house. Paid it off in 7 years. The neighborhood was all owner occupied then. Forward to 26 years later, most are rentals and there are a couple drug houses within a block. We sold out and got almost nothing. My MIL passed and left my wife a little money so we moved to the other side of town. A couple weeks ago, the old house was demolished. Sad to see it go. I had roofed it, rewired it, plumbed it all and built a garage. It is the 3rd house on that block that is now gone. I spent a 1/3 of my life in that house.
Here is the first house I purchased, when I was 18 years old. I paid $21.950 bach in 1974. I see the value on this house is currently $773,000. I wish I would have purchased a dozen of these homes back then.

We gave $38,000 for the house we are living in 8 years ago. It is now valued at $115,000.
Here is my first house i bought. Paid 220k for it in 2005, sold it for 300k in 2016, worth 590k now, i did a lot of work to that house. Built an outdoor kitchen, tore out walls to make it an open concept, put in rv parking and widened the driveway. I really liked the house but couldn't handle living in a subdivision.
This was my second home, bought for 420k in 2014, sold in 2016 for 540k worth 900k now. I did everything to this property hand built all the stone walls, 1600 lf of them. Built the gates and put in 1000 feet of vinyl fence. Planted about 500 trees on the property all irrigated. Put in an avocado orchard. Turned a desert into a place you want to be. Property overlooks the city lights. Totally awesome place but I wanted out of California.
I wish I bought that house from you.
