Why can't people just show up to work and work any more?

The guy I hired which was an old employee of mine that used to do well has missed more work for nonsense injuries and excuses than he has shown up for. He stepped on a nail after I repeatedly told him to stop throwing boards with nails in them on the ground, missed a half a week for that, then there is the every other day excuse of I didn't sleep last night so I'll show up late and work half assed. Then it's I get migraines. Then this week showed up late Monday and got no production done then worked a good day Tuesday and on Wednesday said he was doing a dump run but only took a trashcan full and left a trailer load at the house and then called and said he pinched something in his back. He didn't come back and I told him to stay home and go to the doctor if it was that bad, he didn't go to the doctor and then I get a text message this morning saying he was going to be late because he didn't sleep last night. I told him to take the day off but if course he says he can't afford to and will show up and see what he can do which means nothing but I get to pay him for it.

I hate employees

My guess is he's an addict. Heroin, Oxycontin, Alcohol.... something.

Morning, I'll be back in California this Friday but only for a day. Have a funeral to go to than getting out of town.

I was at a funeral last week. They suck! I wore slacks and semi casual dress shoes and found that everyone else was in shorts and tee shirts AND FLIP FLOPS!. What the hell is wrong with this world?

Same thing with flying on an airplane, people used to get dressed up now its pajamas. People just don't care about appearance any more. My grandfather still wears a button shirt every day.

I am sure I will be over dressed for this funeral. and All I will wear is jeans, boots and a button up. I was going to wear some slacks and whatnot but then I would really stand out.

I hate employees

hate to break it to ya but sounds like a junkie to me, in fact sounds just like my boy when he was shooting dope... may i suggest you have him drug tested before he hurts one of the coworkers
