25 at deer camp this morning, beautiful start to the day. Shot at a nice 8pt, gun misfired, oh well. Saw more deer today than,I've seen in a long time. Back to the woods Wednesday.

Any wild fires close to you?
Yes and no. We had a fire at the top of the local hill last night, but with no winds, it was put out quickly with a helicopter crew. The big Woolsey fire is about an hour away, and my phone rang constantly from the Red Cross to help out, but with bronchitis and a busted rib (from coughing), I'm not going anywhere soon.

When we tried to get hogs loaded in the trailer we built a shoot, tried herding them in the trailer. That was a fiasco. Found it a lot easier to remove the feed for a day, pour corn in the trailer, they couldn't wait to get in. Hogs dont herd, lead or follow.

Cold, windy and snowing. Too bad it is not rabbit season. Talked to some deer hunters, not having much luck, deer are hunkered down, not moving at all.
