I'm sure that I will be bored, I would be willing to do a few days a week I just don't want to be committed to a Monday to Friday deal and I want to be able to work at my own pace.

Rent a house that has a garage and work on a few there. I bet a few of your old customers would show. My daughter's boyfriend buys cars with problems, either fixes and resells or parts them out. Some have something really simple wrong. He bought 2, 2007 Miatas for $200 and ended up with one really nice car and got more than $200 out of the leftovers.

Everytime I try to retire, an old customer will call and beg me to do some work. One of the local stores keeps trying to hire me, says he will pay cash under the table.
IvI' just reached a point where I don't want to be tied down to a job, I would like to be able to choose my days and hours.

I do. If offered a job I don't want, I turn it down. I can live on my soc sec and selling my wood stuff without working.
Same here Rusty, the extra money is nice but I can live good on my SS and retirement.

I agree Rusty, I've seen it happen before,a friend retires with no hobbies and just sits around and the next thing you know you are attending a funeral.
