I had a old woodworker pass on a neat trick to get stains and rust off cast iron work tables like on table and band saws. Get a cheap "cut and loop" oscillating palm sander. A metal scotch brite pad will stick on them just like the sandpaper. it will make the cast iron look like new. It does a much better job than sandpaper

Visitors you don't care for? Or inlaws you can't get rid of?

It's something that could be used to fend off visitors you don't care for, I will post a pic of it when I get it.
