Morning, gonna go dig a deep hole.

Don't forget to pick up a roll of Visqueen, 50Lb bag of lye and another couple of lime... nice deep hole, wrap up "whatever" you want to put in the afore mentinoned hole with the lye inside the 'wrap'. Line the pit with some of the lime, place "item" in the 5' min deep hole, cover with a nice layer of lime, then return the dirt back to the hole in 8-12" lifts compacting as you layer it back full.
Get some nice border for a flower bed to plant a few pretty flowers for the wife, make the 'flower bed' with some great river bottom planting soil in an attractive kidney shape to accentuate the pretty flowers that she and you can enjoy when ever you look at it.

NOTE: It is often good practice to make this type of "planting" by the light of the moon... it helps the flowers., ....really!!!!

Afternoon, 5 foot is far to shallow for the flowers I like to plant but I do like your "fertilizer" method. My backhoe will dig 17'6" deep and I have a lot of experience getting 95% compaction rate.

Well the "animal" is already half dead.

Note: 5 ft would be a minimum. Deeper the better.
Hey, here is an idea... You could ask for the FIL's help and ask him to hold the lantern!!!!!
A good backhoe 'bump' on the legs would make it easier to roll up the 'burito', no running away. There might be a squeal (from the animal) for a short while but after about 3-4' of dirt on top no one would hear.
