Some of the school districts here are starting back today...WTF? Couple outlying counties started last week....what happened to summer vacations?
I was just watching the news and they are pushing for another week here, starting a week earlier and kids will get out a week earlier, why is my question? School from August to May. when I was a kid I went to school from the first or second week in Sept to mid June. Here they are saying it is because then the kids can take their midterms before winter break?

I always thought school was to prepaid kids for life in the real world. Seems they go to school for a week and get 3 days off. They get more vacations than the mailman...or congress... Seems to me that participation trophys and happy places are what they are prepared for...zeesh.
I'm telling you all, leaving Texas was the best thing I have done in the last year! Y'all should have seen the looks from the locals when I told them that Texas sucked. Flight was great, sleeping in my own bed was the best!
