Still alive and in no pain but weaker. Taking her in tomorrow to be put to sleep. Has not eaten for several days.
I'm sorry. It's a difficult process to go through. I'm sure you gave her a wonderful life and being with her through this is the best most loving gift you can give her.

I read a story about a vet yesterday, who was complaining about pet owners who were concerned more with their own sadness when putting a beloved pet down, and would leave the room. He would see the sadness in the pets eyes, when their owners left them in their last minutes of life. I am very happy to know you will be there Rusty.
It brings up sad memories for my own beloved dog, which I had to put down on 5/11/20. Yes, I was there, as it was intended to be.

RIP Tessie Girl!

Dogs die. But before they do, they live.
They live brave, beautiful lives. They protect their families with unwavering loyalty. They love us with a fierceness that knows no bounds. They fill our days with joy, our homes with warmth, and our hearts with light.
Dogs don’t waste time worrying about tomorrow. They live fully in the moment—chasing balls, napping in sunbeams, and wagging their tails at the simple sound of our voices. They teach us how to love without conditions and how to find happiness in the little things.
So yes, dogs die. But before they do, they give us everything they have. And that’s why their love stays with us long after they’re gone.
Here’s to the dogs who live bravely, love deeply, and leave paw prints on our hearts forever. 🐾💖

I've always been there holding my dogs in their final moments.

I have no fear of rescuing another dog to love after losing one to the rainbow bridge. There's so many out there waiting patiently that need the love of person and the security of a home.
