Sorry. I remained close to my first in-laws the rest of their life. Her father never forgave her for cheating on me.

Mine was similar. He divorced ex's mom, and married a real witch. Nobody liked her and she didn't like us. He left her at home, but was always there, in the shadows, so as to not attract attention. Always a stand up guy.
