Yes, the rubber chips are good, but expensive. It would cost me about $2000 to do my backyard, based on pricing last year. This only cost me about $65 to redo, and I do this about every 3 years. Also, since they are made from tires, they are prone to leaving the steel belted shards of metal stuck in the rubber, which stick out like needles.Mark, have you ever thought about going with the recycled tire rubber chips in your planters? I had them in one of my houses and never had to redo them. Just looked good all the time.

You would think that it being a recycled product it would be cheaper to get rid of it.
…..but the recycled tire mulch will leach toxins into the soil.
