Morning all. Got my second notice that electrical power would be off for 13 hours for a mandatory line change in the area where I live. For the second time, I gassed up the generator, pulled it out from under the bench, fired it up to make sure it was working good. I set the electrical lines around the house, and turned down my refer unit to extreme cold. Power was off only for one hour, and everything is back on. Now, after resetting the clocks, timers, recirc system, pool pump, I have to wind up all the cords, put the generator away. Oh well, just another day for a retired guy.
Hey Ken, are the prices climbing in your area greatly? A $500k house in Prescott is now $900k. No frickin way. Now I'm looking at just buying a lot and custom building a home. Chris, can I borrow one of your 20 tractors?

You can buy a nice house here for cheap. We gave $40,000 two years ago for a 2 br house, 80x115 lot, move-in ready in a quiet Republican neighborhood. We have a big deck and a large garage. Next door neighbor is on the city council.

I believe they may be up just a little bit, nothing outrageous. There are two acres right next to us the only property around that I know of that is decent and for sale. All flat, two acres, zoned Rural for 175K.

500k in middle Tennessee gets a pretty good piece of real estate, no state income tax, mostly conservatives, plenty to choose from in entertainment. BUT, weve already reached our quota of California transplants.

Houses in my little town have skyrocketed, bought my house for 400k 4 years ago, it just hit a million bucks. Most people would be happy with that but I'm not selling so I just pay more in taxes.
A 125k 3 bed 2 bath from three years ago is 300k
