Make plans to pick up my son in law at 5:30 this morning. Pull in the drive, load up his kayak and fishing gear, go to start the truck and click, click, click. Shit... Figure it has to be the battery, so... Pull the battery out and go into town. Auto parts stores don't open til 7. Oh well, 24 hour Wally World nearby. They finally open, battery test and it's only got 24 cold cranking amps. 146.00 plus tax for a freaking battery. I thought ditching the diesel that things would be cheaper for repairs. Glad there's only one. Put the battery in, fires right up.

Finally get to the lake and 10:00 my daughter calls. S-I-L, tried to start her car, battery dead. Another trip to this time ORielys. She just bought a Toyota Highlander from Carmax, they are covering the battery cost.

I'm afraid to try and start anything else today...

Battery prices tripled a few years ago. I have never heard why.
